Steve trained as an actor and performed professionally with many prestigious theatre companies and practitioners. He worked with Trestle theatre Company, fuelling a genuine interest in full mask work and consequently the power the body has to communicate stories.
As a theatre director he has directed for the Royal Court Theatre, English Shakespeare Company, Jacksons Lane Theatre, ‘Our Theatre Co. as well as productions at London Metropolitan University and Mountview Theatre Academy. His recent work has taken him to Somaliland and the Geediga Nabada Theatre Troupe; introducing interactive theatre techniques and using drama for conflict transformation to promote dialogue and conflict resolution within Somalia. He has just been awarded a grant for the arts award by the Arts Council England to develop his next project.
Steve regularly teaches acting skills, dynamics of ensemble and devising within Universities and Drama Colleges including London Metropolitan University, Northumbria University, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and Central School of Speech and Drama.
Steve has extensive experience working with organisations, both within the public and private sector, using his skills as an actor, director and facilitator within training and recruitment. Some companies include Citigroup, PWC, Hay Group, EY, A&O, L’Oreal, Camden Council, Lloyds/TSB, RBS, Eli Lilly. GSK, BT, Mercedes Benz, Diageo, Numico and Barnados. For Craft of Communication, Steve has run workshops for O2, 2 Sistewrs Food Company, L’Oreal.
His understanding of dynamic theatre techniques and performance skills coupled with his knowledge and experience of training and facilitation within business can be a very powerful resource for a client.
